WORLDS OLDEST DNA DISCOVERED!
Recently, scientists have discovered 419 million year old DNA from a
salt loving bacteria. These salt loving bacteria could be relatives of the first
life forms on Earth. Scientists previously discovered similar DNA at the Michigan
Basin, the same area where the DNA was discovered currently. In Canada, six other
segments of the same DNA were found, proving that this organism was not only in one
area. The organism could have been spread across the entire planet for all we know,
but more research is needed to come to any conclusion. No DNA has been discovered
from any earlier point in the Earths history. This might be the earliest life
form the Earth has ever discovered, but we can’t be sure yet. This is still being
researched.

Christmas Magma
Manila, Philippines had an early Christmas present from mother Earth: ASH AND MAGMA. On December 15, the Philippines most active volcano erupted, thus evacuating 20,000 people from their homes. They were evacuated 210 miles away from the location of the eruption. That same volcano erupted in 2006, thus evacuating 30,000. And in 1993, it erupted too, killing 79 people. Some people refused to leave because they have already adjusted to the eruptions. “We’re not really alarmed,” Opiana, 66, claims. The volcano’s eruption is not the most serious eruption, the most serious being in 1814, killing over 1,200 people. The people are still in evacuation.

Power Paper
Power Paper
Are you sick of your batteries running out of power? Are you wasting money on batteries over and over again? NOW YOU CAN SOLVE ALL OF YOUR PROBLEMS WITH ONE GREAT PRODUCT: PAPER! It has recently been proven that paper has electric/power storing capabilities. And paper can also have power-generating traits if covered in carbon nano-tubes.
After the paper is covered, it has a battery’s electric current. And not only does the paper copy the electric current, it accelerates the current, thus making a more powerful battery. These batteries can even be used for electric cars. Right now the same scientists are testing the “battery” idea with other fabrics such as cloth.

FOOD DEPRESSION
A London research team established a diet consisting of processed and fatty foods, and the results were astounding. The more processed and fatty foods consumed, the higher the risk of getting depression. But there is a way to counter this. If you eat vegetables, fruits, and natural food, you will be less likely to get depression. If you eat processed food, you will have about a 58% higher chance of getting depression, but if you eat vegetables, or natural foods, you have a 26% lower chance of getting depressed. We do not know how these foods affect the body.
APPLE GETTING SUED BY NOKIA
On of the biggest phone makers in the world, Nokia is suing Apple for using their patented products. They say that Apple is trying to “get a free ride on the back of Nokia’s innovation. Apple broke 10 of Nokia’s patents including voice decoding, wireless data, security, and encryption. After this suing was announced, apples shares REALLY WENT DOWN. Nokia says it has an agreement with around 40 firms; the agreement being that those firms can use their technology. Most of those firms are mobile handset makers. Apple is not one of those firms. Nokia acted REALLY fast, because they spent about 40 billion Euros ($60,000,000,000) on researching and developing this technology. When the new iPhone technology came out, Nokia’s profit almost dropped by 25%, and Apple’s iPhone sales went up 7%.
VW TO BUY HALF OF PORSCHE
One of Europe’s biggest carmakers, Volkswagen, says they will buy 49.9% of Porsche by 2010. If you thought it would be a cheap deal, think again. That 49.9% cost around 6 billion dollars, or 3.9 billion Euros. Back in August, VW and Porsche had little mumbles about merging together. Now, it’s official! Hooray for German people. Over a year, Porsche’s debt grew to 51% stake in VW, short of the required 75%. A while back, Porsche tried to buy VW, only to EPICLY FAIL. That failure caused the chief executive of Porsche to resign over the summer.
Stalin’s Grandson Sues Russian Liberal Media!
In WWII, Joseph Stalin was a cruel, powerful warlord who led the Red Army in the war. Well, that was then. Now, he is just an icon for the Russians. But his family is still alive, and apparently, the Russian Liberal Media hates them. According to Stalin’s grandson (Yevgeny Dzhugashvili), the Liberal media says that Yevgeny’s Grandfather (Joseph Stalin) took innocent Soviet lives during his power. Well, Yevgeny did the little he could do: SUE. The Moscow court has agreed to take the case. Stalin supporters waited outside, while Yevgeny said
Уважали При Сталине нашу страну ", Said one elderly supporter. сторонник.
"Сейчас мы нищие. В те дни мы были уважал и боялся, другие.”
Or in English:
Under Stalin our country was respected," said one elderly supporter.
"Now we are beggars. In those days we were respected and feared by others.”
The defense says
"If the court finds for plaintiff, it will be a massive bomb. We should put an end to these discussions about the murderous dictator - he should be condemned.”
The case is still continuing
COMPUTER PHONES!!
Ever said, “I wonder if my phone could be a computer.” Well now it can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Microsoft has announced the “Windows Phone”. It’s just like a computer, except, IT’S A PHONE! Watch stuff, play stuff, download stuff. They even have an “App store,” similar to the iPhone. Though the Microsoft app store currently has 60 pre-installed apps, but Microsoft says that that number will rise sharply.
The Microsoft phone apparently does not worry Apple, they say the iPhone is much better and reliable. So now Apple and Microsoft once again will be at each others throats.

SPACE TRIP
Huge companies are now
trying to get onto the moon. Not
to build some giant headquarters
or something on the moon, but
for prize money.
The prize is apparently
thirty million dollars,
supplied by Google. These
companies don’t need NASA,
they hired there own
million-dollar-demanding
geniuses. The reward money
is given out in sections,
so it’s like: one million
dollars if you launch some
type of flying object. The
companies don’t really care
about the money, the calculations
and requirements to make the
flying object would cost the
amount of money awarded, if not
more. So why the giant corporations
want this would only be one thing:
publicity.
Monkeys Like Silence…….and Metallica
Usually, animals hate music.
Monkeys DESPISE human music. Like
REALLY HATE IT. For proof, the
national symphony orchestra played
for the monkeys and the monkeys went
CRAZY. Some music even makes monkeys
scared. When monkeys hear human music,
they get all jittery and freak out,
but that has changed. A group of monkeys
in Wisconsin were tested to music by a
band called “Metallica”, and were calmed
and tranquil. Surprised, the scientists
studied human music. The outcome they came
with was against their surprising find.
Human instruments to animals and other
creatures are like listening to nails on
a chalkboard. The Wisconsin scientists
found that if they could get the right
music, or compose a perfect monkey song,
they could influence the monkeys, and
maybe even train them. Also, the
reaction was similar to babies in long
1 note tones. So if you hate Metallica,
don’t scream that you hate it around any monkeys.
OLDEST ANCESTOR OF HUMANS FOUND
Recently, some non-special
group of scientists found an ordinary
fossil. Nothing big. But as the fossil
was studied more and more, it turned
out to look like a chimp. Still,
nothing big. But then it started to
look like a human, so the Californian
scientists really started to get confused.
The fossil actually turned out to be a
pre-evolved human. A REALLY PRE-EVOLVED
HUMAN. A 4.4 million pre-evolved human.
Really old. The creature, called ‘ardi’,
could have been the last related humanoid
to the chimpanzee. Of course, the
scientists, having no cheery or creative
side, call the fossil a normal human and
move on.

PLANE FINDERS
PLANE FINDERS
On June 1, a French passenger
plane went missing, over the
Atlantic Ocean, going from
Brazil to Paris. After a few
hours of being airborne, the
plane disappeared, with its
228 passengers. Recently,
there have been searches for
the plane, but only a seat
and oil have been found. Around
the time the plane crashed, there
were strong winds, which may have
caused the crash. If the plane is
recovered, the search parties will
search for a recorded message; to
maybe find an alternate cause for the mysterious plane crash.

New York Bombers! (NOT a new baseball team)
In New York, New York, May 20,
four men were accused of planting
what looked like bombs in New York
synagogues. They were reported right
away since New Yorkers have been extremely
alert since 9/11. The four are charged with
conspiracy to use WMD’s (weapons of mass
destruction). Three of the bombers were
from the United States, but one was from
Haiti. The bombers plan was to put C-4
(explosive stuff) into cars outside of
synagogues and detonate them. The cars
had 30 pounds of C-4. Another words A LOT
OF EXPLOSIVE STUFF.

WALL-E
Wall-E
Well, first, I’m not much of a children’s movie-lover. I can deal with them. I got dragged to see this movie with my little brother. So, I got some popcorn and a drink and sat down in the theater. Ok, it starts out with some trash everywhere. Yeah, kind of interesting. The next 25 minutes or so, it’s about A ROBOT PICKING UP TRASH! Now what is that?! 25 minutes of my life about some robot that makes annoying sounds picking up trash! After 25 minutes or so, something different happens! Another robot comes. Wow. Exciting. After that wall-e LOVES the robot, making the worst romance ever. And its that romance stuff for the next 30 minutes. After that, some evil ship robot tries to keep them everyone away from earth. Wall-e saves the day, and they go back to earth. Well, sorry, I just spoiled the entire movie.

$270,000,000 Spent on an EXPLOSION
The NASA spacecraft “CO2 Hunter” was going to find the largest source of carbon dioxide. Unfortunately, it had a malfunction and crashed over the Atlantic Ocean. NASA said the problem was the weight distribution. The “Hunter” was similar to the Taurus XL. The Taurus XL accomplished 8 flights and was successful. The Taurus was launched in 1994 and cost $270,000,000. The U.S. space agency is putting together a “Mishap investigation board” to find the cause for the crash of the Hunter.
NASA knows that the Hunter didn’t crash in sight because there were hundreds of onlookers watching it launch. The Hunter will be tried again, but once NASA recovers from the first mishap.

Cheese Is Watching Us!
A group of scientists were listening to the radio while making grilled cheese sandwiches. Nothing out of the usual. But then their radioactive detecting sunglasses were going crazy. They looked for the source of the radioactive-ness for hours. Until, they found it. They got hungry, so they decided to eat their grilled cheese. But when the grilled cheese got close to them their radioactive detecting sunglasses AND shoelaces were going crazy. The discovery was made.
“It turns out,” scientist Joe Josephs says, “that all types of cheeses have been watching us in different ways.” Cheddar, was watching us through their invisible eyes. Parmesan used thermo graphic senses to watch us. All types of cheeses are watching us in their different, evil cheesy ways.
“Where do they come from? Was the first thing I thought when we made this discovery.” Scientist Steve Stevens says. After more hours of working diligently to find out where they came from, it happened. “It was so obvious when we found it.” scientist Mike Michaels says. “They came from cows!”
So now we know the cheese mystery. The cheese came from cows. But the mixture of the cow milk and the cheese ingredients gave them vision. So remember, be careful where you put your cheese because; it’s watching you.

So now we know the cheese mystery. The cheese came from cows. But the mixture of the cow milk and the cheese ingredients gave them vision. So remember, be careful where you put your cheese because; it’s watching you.
